Marin County veterans and their supporters honored the war dead Monday at the annual Memorial Day ceremony in San Rafael.
The event, organized by the Marin County United Veterans Council, took place at the war memorial along the Avenue of the Flags at the Civic Center campus.
The event included a special tribute for Ray Mullin, the former council president and longtime veterans’ advocate who died in March at age 70.
The county has about 11,000 living military veterans.
