[Track and Field] Friends Spring Open Day 2 Recap
WICHITA, Kan. – Day two of the Friends Spring Open wrapped up tonight (Mar. 31) at Adair-Austin Stadium.
A high note for the Falcons featured the duo of Jadon Davis (25:35.35) and Gage Carr (25:43.37) each hitting the NAIA B Standard in the Men's 5,000 Meter Race Walk.
Aaliyah Ramirez had a big day in the Women's Pole Vault for Friends, finishing tied for fifth with a mark of 3.13m that is currently tops in the KCAC and just shy of her PR.
Mikkel Tarver was also a standout in the Men's Long Jump, recording a jump of 7.02m to finish ninth. Tarver's mark is currently second best in the KCAC.
In the Women's Long Jump, Amani Bradsher (5.04m) finished 18th, followed by Aaliyah Tarver (5.02m) in 21st. Bradsher now has the current third best mark in the KCAC this season, while Tarver now ranks fourth in the league.
As of this writing, Brian Sweney was tied for sixth in the Men's Pole Vault with a mark of 4.28m.
Action also concluded today in the Cole Davis Combined Events, with Seth Wiebelhaus (6541) of Mount Marty surging ahead to win the Men's Decathlon and Vanessa Mercera of Cloud County CC finishing on top in the Women's Heptathlon.
