Chilling footage shows shooter Audrey Hale prowling Nashville school halls with gun before trans ex-student killed 6
HORRIFIC footage shows the Nashville school shooter blasting into a building and stalking the halls with a gun before killing six people.
Audrey Hale, 28, is seen rampaging through the school building with a long gun in the surveillance video released by Nashville police.
Hale entered the school through a side door that had been breached, Metropolitan Nashville Police Department said.
The video shows Hale, an ex-student, arriving at the school parking lot in a Honda Fit.
The shooter, who was heavily armed with two “assault-type” guns and a nine-millimeter pistol, blasted through two glass doors to get inside.
Dressed in a white T-shirt, camo pants, sneakers, and a red baseball cap, the suspect is then seen storming the halls of the school, aiming the long rifle every so often.
Hale shot and killed six people, including three children and three staff members.
Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs, and William Kinney, all nine years old, died in the horrific rampage.
Hallie was the daughter of pastor Chad Scruggs.
The adult victims were identified as Cynthia Peak, 61, Mike Hill, 61, and Katherine Koonce, 60.
Koonce was the head of The Covenant School, according to the school’s website.
Investigators have said that Peak was a substitute teacher and Hill was a custodian.
Law enforcement is still looking into whether Hale had any connection to the victims other than attending the school “years ago.”
BARRAGE OF BULLETS
Before being killed by police, Hale shot at arriving officers from a second-story window.
Photos show broken glass where the shooter opened fire, along with large bullet holes in the windshield of a police vehicle.
The police department shared pictures of the weapons used by the shooter, stating that the suspect also had “significant ammunition.”
At least two of Hale’s guns were bought legally in the Nashville area, said police.
A search warrant executed at Hale’s home led to the seizure of a sawed-off shotgun, a second shotgun, and other evidence.
Police said that writings recovered from Hale showed that the attack was “calculated and planned”
DISTURBING EVIDENCE
The police chief said in a press conference on Monday that a manifesto was found.
“We have some writings that we’re going over that pertain to this date, the actual incident,” he said.
Hale reportedly drew a detailed map of the school, including several entry points, and even did surveillance in the area.
“We have a map drawn out of how this was all going to take place,” the police chief said.
He added that another location was mentioned in Hale’s maps and manifesto, however, the shooter ruled out the second target because it had “too much security.”
The Covenant School released a statement late Monday addressing the tragedy: “Our community is heartbroken. We are grieving tremendous loss and are in shock coming out of the terror that shattered our school and church.
“We are focused on loving our students, our families, our faculty and staff, and beginning the process of healing.
“Law enforcement is conducting its investigation, and while we understand there is a lot of interest and there will be a lot of discussion about and speculation surrounding what happened, we will continue to prioritize the well-being of our community.”
Meanwhile, President Joe Biden called the shooting a “family’s worst nightmare” while speaking at an unrelated event at the White House.
He called on Congress to pass a ban on certain semi-automatic weapons.
“It’s ripping at the soul of this nation, ripping at the very soul of this nation,” he said.
