Hilary Duff Confirms 'We Don't Talk' Song is About Sister Haylie as She Addresses Falling Out
Hilary Duff is confirming that everyone on the internet has been talking about.
For years, fans have speculated that the 38-year-old actress and singer may have had a falling out with her older sister Haylie Duff as they never interact with each other on social media and haven’t been seen out in public together since 2019.
On her new album luck…or something, Hilary included the song “We Don’t Talk,” which added more fuel to those rumors.
“We come from the same home, the same blood,” Hilary sings. “A different combination, but the same mom / People ask me how you’re doing, I wanna say amazing / But the truth is that I don’t know.”
In a new interview with CBS Mornings, which aired on Friday (February 20), Hilary confirmed that the song is about Haylie, 41, and admitted that they’re currently not on good terms.

While she isn’t sure what Haylie will think about the song, Hilary said she included it on the new album “because it’s [her] truth.”
“I don’t know if she’ll hear it. I don’t know how she’ll react to it. You know, it is a really personal part of my life that doesn’t get to stay personal,” she explained. “So I might as well say how it is for me, and that’s all I’m trying to do. I’m not trying to say anything bad. It’s literally just my experience — and that’s really all I feel like sharing.”
Also on the new album, Hilary has a song about her strained relationship with her father.
