Cool, southerly and small
Hello Friends,
Nice to be back to milder temps this morning. The southerly arrived around 0600 and at this writing is blowing 15-25 kts. Out at sea the seas were !.8 to 3 metres at 5 seconds from the SW according to the Botany Bay buoy data. So, no real swell, and pushing away from the coast. At Dee Why this was translating into knee-high, sideshore dribble. The NSW Nearshore Wave Tool was not painting the most encouraging picture. If it’s correct, we’re looking at very small to near flat prospects right across the coming week. By their calculations, the next little pulse won’t be with us until late Friday. And right now, said pulse will probably not be too exciting. Particularly as the wind call is for onshores. ‘Tis the season of long flat spells and gutless wind bump, so no real surprise. Water’s getting warmer however, and there’s nothing to stop us jumping in to revive and re-energise.
Catchya again tomorrow!
Weather Situation
A strong cold front is bringing a fresh to strong southwesterly change for southern parts of the coast, and strong northeasterly winds ahead of it for central and northern parts of the coast. This southwesterly change will reach central and northern parts of the coast this afternoon as the cold front moves east, before winds tend north to northeasterly across the entire coast on Monday as ridge builds along the coast. Another cold front will brush southern and central parts of the coast on Tuesday and Wednesday, bringing a southwesterly change with it.
