Dave’s Killer Bread is Celebrating Its 20th Anniversary With New Supreme Sourdough Loaves
Dave's Killer Bread, known for its loaves of whole grain, sprouted, organic, and thin-sliced breads, has added a new kind to its repertoire: sourdough. The variety, called Supreme Sourdough, is unlike any other store-bought sourdough out there. It all starts with an authentic sourdough starter with a double-fermentation process. Then the dough is rolled in its signature Good Seed topping, baked to perfection and sliced thick.
The recipe, which includes organic wheat and whole wheat flours, cracked wheat, wheat gluten, malted barley flour, sea salt, cane sugar, dried vinegar, acerola cherry powder and enzymes, makes a 13-slice loaf that provides 13 grams of whole grains, three grams of fiber and six grams of protein per serving.
The Good Seed topping is a blend of whole flax seeds, sunflower seeds, and tri-color quinoa, which contributes fiber, protein, and heart-healthy fats to each loaf. Like all of its products, its USDA-certified organic and Non-GMO Project verified, which Dave's Killer Bread is very proud of.
Dave's Killer Bread Fans Are Loving the Sourdough

While the bread was just launched, one fan is so delighted with it that they took to the reviews section to share their satisfaction. "Nothing like it on the market, real sourdough bread with a seeded twist. Awesome as a grilled cheese or just with butter by itself," they stated. Another commented on a Dave's Killer Bread Instagram post announcing the new variety, "This is the greatest news I've heard in a long time. Currently I buy DKB and sourdough and alternate. Now I won't have to! I feel seen!"

The new sourdough loaves can be found in some Target, Sprouts Farmers Market, Fred Meyer, Quality Food Centers, WinCo Foods, Ralphs, Safeway and Walmart stores in California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona and Idaho.
"Sourdough bread is one of the most popular homemade bread varieties, but not everyone has time for that!" said Cristina Watson, senior director, brand management at Dave's Killer Bread. "Dave's new organic Supreme Sourdough lets you save time on baking bread and focus on breaking bread with your friends gathered around the table."
We'll be on the lookout for the brand to launch its Supreme Sourdough on the East Coast and in the Midwest so that we can give it a try. In the meantime, we'll be grabbing a loaf of Oats & Blues, which is a legacy loaf Dave's Killer Bread relaunched to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
