JOSH FOWLER was “buzzing” to net two goals in the Spiders’ win over Raith Rovers, with a nod to his team mate Charlie Fox in his celebration.
Josh was also happy to contribute to the team’s first win at home in the league this season, with the striker being full of praise for his teammates.
He said: “I think the boys battled so well, we were good in the final third this week, clinical. We also defended so well, it’s not just me with the goals, it’s also the back four and Cal with some really good saves as well. So, absolutely buzzing, perfect day at the office.”
After Josh scored his first goal, he held up Foxy’s shirt as a tribute to his close team-mate who has been in hospital this last week after picking up a bad knee injury in the game against Partick Thistle.
“This is the thing about football, I feel like every team you go to, no matter whereabouts in the world, I think you always meet brothers and best pals in football. I’ve only known Charlie since June, but we’re with each other everyday, on and off the pitch. It’s a really big loss to us on the pitch, and off the pitch.
“I’ve been by his side, not only me, me and all the boys. I said to him before the game ‘I’m gonna score for you today, and I’m going to do a wee thing got you’.
“I’m really glad I got to do that for him.”
Josh felt the team really needed the win, touching on his recent injury as well as hoping the team can kick on and continue winning in the upcoming games, starting with the spiders next game, St Johnstone away.
“We did really need that, I’ve obviously been injured as well I mean I’m not even fully fit at the moment, I was struggling towards the end there.
“We’ve had some good draws, and it’s just that final wee bit so I’m glad that we kind of put our good performances and got a win. Hopefully we can just keep kicking on.”
