Jeanerette shooting suspects arrested, booked in Iberia Parish officials say
JEANERETTE, La. (KLFY) -- Two persons of interest have been arrested in connection to a Jeanerette shooting.
According to the Jeanerette Police Department, Jared Eugene and Akyre Marks surrendered this afternoon to the Jeanerette City Marshal’s Office in connection to a shooting that occurred on June 17, on the corner of Peach and Pellerin streets.
Marks, 17, of Jeanerette, was wanted for Illegal Use of Weapons or Dangerous Instrumentalities, Aggravated Assault with Firearm, Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property, Illegal Carry of Weapons and Illegal Possession of a Handgun by Juveniles.
Eugene, 39, of Jeanerette, was wanted for Illegal Use of Weapons or Dangerous Instrumentalities, Possession of Firearms or Carrying Concealed Weapons by Persons Convicted of Certain Felonies, Aggravated Assault with Firearms and Illegal Carrying of Weapons.
Officials said both have been transported to an Iberia Parish jail for booking. No information on bond has been released at this time.
