Man United could announce signing of three starlets next week
Manchester United have looked at bolstering their academy under the co-ownership of INEOS.
According to journalist Rich Fay, Man United could complete the signing of three starlets next week.
United had already sealed an agreement in January with Paraguayan club Cerro Porteno to snap up teenage sensation Diego Leon on a five-year deal.
They were unable to complete a deal until he turned 18 in April.
United are reportedly paying an initial fee in the region of £3.2 million which could rise to £7m with the add-ons.
Leon is an attack-minded left-back and is considered one of South America’s brightest emerging talents.
He is expected to join the academy set-up and could step into the shoes of Harry Amass, who is on the brink of becoming a full-time member of the senior squad next season.
Another hot prospect on United’s radar is Enzo Kana-Biyik, a prolific young striker from Le Havre.
The Old Trafford outfit defeated Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea to sign the 18-year-old starlet.
Kana-Biyik is expected to be integrated into the Under-21 squad, potentially filling the void left by Chido Obi, who is knocking on the first-team door.
Even at this young age, he has displayed the ability to make clever movements and get past defenders.
United could announce his arrival after his current deal expires at the end of the month.
The third player on the list is Southampton’s young sensation Harley Emsden-James.
The Red Devils will pay £1m in compensation, with the Championship club inserting a 20 per cent sell-on clause into the deal.
The 16-year-old has already donned an England shirt at youth level and is seen as a long-term defensive gem.
He is a modern defender who possesses great technical ability on the ball.
INEOS have shown faith in youngsters over the last 12 months.
Their investment in Arsenal academy graduate Ayden Heaven has already paid off, with the young defender stepping into senior-level action.
Obi and Amass are also expected to play a significant role under Ruben Amorim next term.
