Capital Region restaurants close doors due to extreme heat
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- With high temperatures projected for the next few days, some restaurants around the Capital Region are limiting menu items or even shutting their doors due to the heat.
Some restaurants gave their cooks a break today to stay cool during the oppressive and humid heat. Below is a list of restaurants with limited items or that have closed to keep cool.
The Broken Inn in Niskayuna
The Broken Inn on Nott Street in Niskayuna is closed on June 23. In a social media post, The Broken Inn said that the new bar air conditioner is being fixed. Although the restaurant is closed, The Broken Inn will open its hot dog cart and keep the ice cream window open today from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Sons Deli in Clarksville
Sons Deli will not have the ovens running on June 23 and 24. The deli's menu will only feature cold subs, fresh and deli salads, panini press sandwiches, and fryer or grill items.
Carson's Woodside Tavern in Malta
Carson's Woodside Tavern will be closed on Monday due to the heat.
Lizzie Keays in Warrensburg
Lizzie Keays will be closed on Monday due to the heat and reopen on Tuesday for BTrue’s Day and live music with Vinnie Leddick.
Ryan's Famous Pizza & Ice Cream in Castleton-on-Hudson
Ryan's Pizza & Ice Cream will remain closed on Monday and Tuesday due to the sweltering heat. In a social media post, shop officials said that keeping the ovens off will help the inventory stay cold until the shop reopens on Wednesday.
42 Fusion in Ballston Spa
Because of the extreme heat and a temporary issue with its air conditioning, 42 Fusion in Ballston Spa will remain closed on Monday.
