Summer-like temps return to Portland to start the week
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — We're getting back to those summer vibes to start the week!
More sunshine and daytime highs return to the low 80s Monday and Tuesday as high pressure build just offshore. Come mid-week, we'll transition into cloudier and cooler conditions in the low or mid 70s as a weak trough of low pressure moves over the Pacific Northwest.
In case you were wondering — with our two soggy days on Friday and Saturday, we are sitting with above-normal rain totals for the month of June — a welcomed sight for sure!
We filled up our rain gauges to 1.92" of total rainfall over those two days. Saturday's 0.89" brought record amounts, breaking an old rain record of 0.44" set back in 1943.
On average, PDX sees 1.63" of rainfall for the month of June. It is the fourth driest month of the year.
As for this week's rain chances, we are expecting to stay mainly dry. By mid-week, there's a slight chance Portland could see a few light showers or sprinkles, but the region is not expecting any significant rain amounts.
