Firm unveils medical aid plan for vulnerable groups
Herald Reporter
QUEST Medical Scheme has introduced the Vitality Senior medical aid plan, a specialised healthcare package catering for the needs of senior citizens, pensioners and other vulnerable groups.
This healthcare solution was designed to realise improved health outcomes for all, including the low-income earners to enhance Zimbabwe’s human capital development towards a prosperous and empowered upper-middle income society in line with Zimbabwe’s National Health Strategy (2021- 2025)
Quest Vitality Medical Scheme General Manager Mr Godfrey Mushonga said marginalised societies often face age-related health challenges such as managing chronic conditions and accessing regular medical care, a gap that Quest Vitality Senior Plan Packages have come to fill.
“Entering old age or retirement brings with it serious health challenges which can be a challenge for most. However, it’s also a time when a clear healthcare plan is needed.
“By covering day-today medical needs in exchange for a small monthly premium, it becomes easier to navigate these challenges without the stress of financial strain, and that is why Quest Vitality Medical Scheme has established a network of primary, secondary, tertiary, quaternary and quinary service providers that offer cost-effective patient centered medical treatment thus creating congruency between premium payment and health service provision,” said Mr Mushonga.
The medical aid cover packages tailored for senior citizens will provide comprehensive access to essential health services, including General Practitioner (GP) consultations, prescription medication, mental health support and strategy, hospitalisation coverage, radiology services, access to psychologists, physiotherapy, audiometry, ophthalmology services, and ambulance services.
These carefully selected services are designed to promote healthy ageing, improve health outcomes, and enhance the overall well-being of senior citizens.
Provision of access to these critical services allows Quest’s medical aid cover packages to save lives through timely and effective medical interventions.
They are also designed to improve health and nutrition outcomes, and ensure a healthy and peaceful senior citizen age group, enabling individuals to maintain their independence and quality of life.
Quest Vitality Medical Scheme is a subsidiary of Quest Financial Services Group licensed medical aid provider (as per Section 4(1) of the Medical Services Regulations SI 330 of 2000).
The scheme offers tailored medical aid products catering to diverse socio-economic needs in Zimbabwe, providing affordable and accessible healthcare solutions.
