Cat'n Around Catskill returns for 19th year
CATSKILL, N.Y. (NEWS10) - Catskill is celebrating its 19th year of Cat’n Around Catskill this year. Once again Catskill’s Main Street is lined with exciting artist renditions of festive felines.
This year there are 69 statues on display. The annual summer artists initiative is hosted by the Heart Of Catskill Association.
The culmination of the summer event is the Cat's Meow Action, where the feline statues will be sold to interested buyers. A portion of the proceeds from the auction goes right back to the community to fund local programs and initiatives. Last year, they raised $120,000, with the buyer getting the opportunity to bring a little Catskill home with them wherever they live.
The works of art will be on display from Memorial Day to mid-September. NEWS10's Cassie Hudson checked out the annual tradition in 2021 for Off the Beaten Path.
