One person dead after Mifflin Township house fire
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – One person is dead after a fire destroyed a Mifflin Township home Friday morning, northeast of the city.
Mifflin Township and Columbus Division of Fire crews were called to the 2700 block of Baughman Avenue in Arlington Park, where a home caught fire at around 6:56 a.m. Heavy smoke and flames were seen from the first and second floors as well as from the back of the home.
Mifflin Township Fire Chief Brian Dunlevy confirmed that one person is dead, and a second person made it out of the home with unspecified injuries.
The cause of the fire remains unknown as crews continue to contain the blaze, but Dunlevy said it does not appear to be suspicious in nature.
