New Columbus pet ER allows people to stay with animals through treatment
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — A company offering a new type of veterinary care is now open in Columbus.
VEG ER for Pets, which describes itself as “the world’s veterinary emergency company that helps people and their pets when they need it most,” has a new location in the Easton area. The latest site, VEG Easton, located at 4056 Morse Road, just off the exit from I-270, is the third VEG hospital in Ohio, after Cincinnati and Dublin.
In a news release, the company said it offers all types of veterinary emergency care, including surgeries, ultrasounds, X-rays and more. Additionally, a key service that sets the veterinary care facility apart from others is that it allows pet parents to stay with their animals through all stages of treatment, including surgery and overnight hospitalization.
“When a pet parent walks into VEG Easton, they will immediately feel they have finally found a place that will provide their family and pet the best emergency veterinary experience that exists,” said Dr. David Bessler, VEG founder and CEO. “Upon entering VEG Easton, pet parents will feel a sigh of relief and comfort, as they are greeted with a friendly smile, empathetic attitude, and luxury comforts for them, and their pet.”
The company noted that people calling with medical questions about their pets will immediately speak with licensed veterinarians who answer the phones at the facilities. Injured animals will receive triage care right away, without waiting for paperwork. Also, the building has an open floor plan, so customers do not have to sit alone in a lobby and have “freedom of movement … to see life-saving heroics up close.”
VEG Easton is open for pet emergencies 24/7, including holidays.
