Officers involved in shooting along U.S. 33 in Marysville
MARYSVILLE, Ohio (WCMH) – U.S. 33 was the site of a heavy police presence Friday morning in Marysville after a shooting occurred involving officers and an unknown number of suspects.
At around 5:30 a.m., lanes on U.S. 33 were briefly closed, then restricted, in both directions after what the Ohio Department of Transportation called a police incident.
According to The Ohio Attorney General’s Office, the Bureau of Criminal Investigation was called to assist the Marysville Division of Police to investigate an officer involved shooting. No other information on what led to the shooting has been released.
The Union County Sheriff's Office also said via social media that U.S. 33 at the Northwest Parkway interchange would be shut down for several hours due to a police incident, while Marysville PD stated U.S. 33 westbound at State Route 245 is down to one lane.
Traffic was slowed as far back as the curve at State Route 31 and State Route 38 exit. All lanes were announced as open as of 9:15 a.m.
