Man pleads guilty in 2020 Chickasha double homicide
CHICKASHA, Okla. (KFOR) - A man has pleaded guilty to two charges of First Degree Murder regarding a 2020 homicide in Chickasha.
On November 30, 2020, Chickasha Police officers responded to an apartment on Virginia Ave. Upon arrival, they found 37-year-old Ashley Cannon deceased. She was 36 week pregnant at the time of her death.
Officials say the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation was asked to help in January 2020. The investigation led authorities to 41-year-old Kenneth Johnson, who was later charged in November 2023 with two counts of First Degree Murder by the Grady County District Attorney's Office.
On May 29, 2025, Johnson pleaded guilty to both charges of First Degree Murder for the deaths of Cannon and her unborn child, Nala. He was been sentenced to life in prison with all but the first 40 years suspended.
