Daniel Levy plans crunch talks with Ange Postecoglou about Tottenham future
Tottenham’s manager hunt has taken a turn, with Daniel Levy now weighing an Ange Postecoglou decision that could reshape the club’s short-term future.
The future of current Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou remains uncertain, as Spurs weigh up a decision after the manager’s recent success in the Europa League, where he won the competition, ending Tottenham’s long wait for silverware.
However, the Australian has struggled domestically, especially in the Premier League, where he has overseen the club’s worst ever finish in their history, guiding them to 17th place, after losing 22 out of 38 games.
It is Postecoglou’s poor domestic campaign that has seen him come under fire, with Tottenham having since had a shortlist of potential managerial targets should they sack the 59-year-old, but given his recent cup win, the Tottenham hierarchy has a big decision to make.
Tottenham prepare crunch talks with Ange Postecoglou as Levy weighs up replacements
Football Insider has now revealed where things stand on the future of the man in the Spurs dugout.
The publication has reported that Spurs are preparing to ramp up crunch talks with Postecoglou in the coming days as his future hangs in the balance.
It is said that Daniel Levy and his recruitment team are evaluating potential replacements for the Australian manager, but could choose to stick with him if the right man is not available.
Ange Postecoglou has, of course, benefited from a groundswell of support from his Tottenham players after he delivered Tottenham’s first trophy in 17 years, a support that could work in his favour.
Spurs monitoring Thomas Frank as Postecoglou uncertainty lingers
It was also revealed a few days back that Brentford were starting to get worried about Thomas Frank’s position in the Bees’ dugout, amidst interest from Tottenham.
Tottenham are said to be monitoring the Brentford man who has impressed once more as head coach of the London club, after guiding them to a top ten finish for the second time in three seasons.
Journalist Alasdair Gold has also reported that there is a chance Postecoglou remains in the Tottenham dugout at the start of next season after ending Spurs’ trophy drought.
The journalist has stated that there is a huge surge of gratitude from Tottenham fans for Postecoglou, suggesting that Levy will be mindful of the backlash from the supporters if he now sacks the Aussie coach.
