St. Landry Parish bust: Fentanyl and meth traffickers arrested
ST. LANDRY PARISH, La. (KLFY) -- Within the last month, a St. Landry narcotics investigation resulted in the trafficking of fentanyl and crystal methamphetamines and several arrests, deputies said.
The investigation lead to the arrests of three men: Bryan Hawkins, 36, Devonte Jamal Benjamin, 27 and Christopher Pierre, 26, all of Opelousas, deputies said.
Hawkins is charged with possession with intent to distribute fentanyl while Benjamin is charged with possession with intent to distribute crystal methamphetamine. Pierre is facing five charges: aggravated flight from an officer, conspiracy to distribute crystal methamphetamine , no driver's license and driving left of center, deputies said.
Authorities said there is an outstanding warrant for Herman Rosette, 34, of Opelousas for possession with intent to distribute fentanyl.
This investigation has resulted in the seizure of approximately 20 ounces of suspected Fentanyl, with an estimated street value of $112,000.00 and 27 ounces of Crystal Methamphetamine, with an estimated street value of $75,000.00. In addition, deputies have also seized $1,954.00 in United States Currency.
The investigation still remains ongoing.
