Police: Louisiana mother abandons children on side of road, then reports them missing
SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – The Shreveport Police Department has arrested a woman for allegedly abandoning her children on the side of the road.
Officers were called to the 3400 block of Palm Road after receiving a report of missing children, prompting the Juvenile Crimes Unit to investigate.
The two children, ages 11 and 12, said their mother, Laquesha Williams, 33, had forced them out of her car during an argument and drove off, officials said.
After leaving her children by the roadside, the mother later called the police and reported them as missing.
Laquesha Williams was subsequently arrested and charged with two counts of Criminal Neglect of Family.
Detectives contacted the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services. Both children were located unharmed.
