Spike Lee Would ‘Give Up an Academy Award’ For a Knicks Championship Win
Spike Lee, a man who estimated he’s spent $10 million on the New York Knicks throughout his life, is very serious about basketball. So much so that he’s willing to give up an Academy Award just to see his beloved team take home a championship. “I would give up an Academy Award. Oscar, for the Knicks to win a Championship,” Lee threatened during the NBA pre-show wearing the same pinstriped Knicks suit he wore to Cannes last week. “Well you’re gonna keep ‘em!” Charles Barkley joked back. Thankfully, Lee’s Oscars are still up for grabs as the Knicks won 111-94 against the Indiana Pacers, with the playoffs going into Game 6 on Saturday.
