Cardona's Market dedicates sandwich to NEWS10's Steve Caporizzo
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- Cardona's Market is set to unveil a new sandwich Thursday, honoring NEWS10's Chief Meteorologist Steve Caporizzo. Caporizzo is set to take the first bite of "The Cappy" at 1 p.m. at its Latham location.
In January, Caporizzo announced he was retiring from NEWS10, effective on June 30. According to the market, his presence within the community has been meaningful, by his visits to more than 1,500 schools, civic groups, and senior centers and finding more than 30,000 pets new homes.
A portion of the profits made from each "Cappy" sold, will support two local non-profit animal rescue and adoption organizations.
Stay with NEWS10 for updates on the sandwich and its unveiling.
