Cohoes man arrested for alleged child rape
STILLWATER, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Cohoes man is accused of raping a child under the age of 17. Robert Halikias, 21, faces many charges.
Charges
- Three counts of third-degree rape
- Endangering the welfare of a child
- Criminal obstruction of breathing
- Three counts of first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child
- Two counts of third-degree sexual abuse
The New York State Police said it received a report of inappropriate sexual contact between a man and a child in Stillwater on April 19. Upon further investigation, troopers reporting finding that Halikias provided the child with alcohol and marijuana before having sexual intercourse with them on multiple occasions in April.
Halikias also allegedly obstructed the child's breathing during an altercation in Stillwater on April 18. The suspect surrendered himself to the State Police before he was arraigned at Milton Town Court and placed in the Saratoga County Correctional Facility.
