Albany man admits to break in, bathing in victim's home
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A man pleaded guilty in Albany County Court on Thursday morning to a charge of second-degree burglary. The Albany County District Attorney's Office said Kenneth Radley, 45, faces a possible sentence of seven to 10 years in prison.
Radley confessed through his guilty plea that on Aug. 6, 2024, he entered an apartment at 99 South Lake Ave. Just after 5 p.m., the man who rents the apartment returned home from work while Radley was inside, the DA's office said.
The victim found his apartment door ajar, and when he stepped inside, he noticed the apartment was ransacked. The victim was confronted by Radley, who had taken a bath, eaten food from his refrigerator, and was wearing the victim's black tank top, grey sweatpants, and white Adidas sneakers.
When the victim told Radley to leave, Radley yelled that it was his apartment and began pushing the victim. A dispute ensued, and Radley was pinned down by the victim until law enforcement arrived.
The DA's office said once the Albany Police Department arrived, they learned Radley had tried breaking into an additional apartment earlier in the day. Radley is scheduled to be sentenced on July 30.
