Japan selection process for Women's Baseball Asia Cup starts on June 20
Samurai Japan announced they will select the Women's Baseball National Team among players of the All Japan University Women's Baseball Association. The process will begin with a selection camp from June 20 to 22 in Miyoshi, the host city of the WBSC Women's Baseball World Cup Group B in 2023.
"The aim is strengthening young players and gaining experience and education in international competitions," stated the Samurai Japan website.
"The ultimate goal is making women's baseball a natural sport and culture," added the All Japan Women's Baseball Association.

Risa Nakashima, who led Japan to their seventh consecutive WBSC Women's Baseball World Cup title in 2024, will be at the helm through the next WBSC Women's Baseball World Cup which includes the Group Stage scheduled for 2026 and the Finals in 2027.
World No. 1 Japan will compete in the IV Women's Baseball Asia Cup, a qualifying tournament to the Women's Baseball World Cup Group Stage organised by the Baseball Federation of Asia in Hangzhou, China. They will face Chinese Taipei, Korea, Hong Kong-China, China, Philippines, India, Pakistan, Indonesia and Thailand.
