NHL Reporter Issues Major Report On Bruins’ Coaching Search
The Boston Bruins are narrowing down their options.
Washington Capitals assistant coach Mitch Love and Ontario Reign head coach Marco Sturm are finalists for their head coach opening, Fluto Shinzawa of The Athletic reported on Tuesday.
The Bruins are conducting in-person interviews at their facilities this week, following a preliminary round of remote conversations.
Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman provided even more context on Wednesday, sharing that one of the candidates “is very much in” the conversation to be hired on his “32 Thoughts” podcast with Kyle Bukauskas.
“As we record this late Tuesday night/Wednesday morning, I’m under the impression (Marco) Strum is supposed to still visit Boston,” Friedman said. “Whether that’s to do another interview or be given the job, I can’t say that… but he’s very much in it.”
Do we know when a decision will be made? No. Do we know if there will be an emphasis on giving both candidates the same chance? No. It’s a waiting game, but reports have us believing that things could come together rather quickly.
