Nice morning for a beach walk
Hello Friends,
As expected, this morning sees the NE wind swell offshore in the sub-metre range with a 7-second period. In a word, it’s flat.
This morning’s swell models are telling us that tomorrow’s going to be similar to today, but by Thursday afternoon we could see signs of an increase into the 1.5 metre range. But, the Bureau tells us that the uptick in swell will be accompanied by ramping southerly wind and a return to showery weather. Sigh.
My hopes are for light offshores and fun-size waves on Friday morning – and it not actually raining.
In the meantime, have yourself a top old day everyone!
Weather Situation
A slow moving high pressure system over the Tasman Sea is extending a ridge to the state’s east while slowly tracking further eastwards, directing northerly winds along the southern and central parts of the coast. Then, a cold front and its associated trough are forecast to cross the south coast on Wednesday, before heading north and crossing the remainder of the coast on Thursday, with a fresh southerly wind change in their wake. These systems will be followed by a strong high pressure system drifting across the southeast of the continent later this week.
