Man pleads guilty to setting fire to 2 Broadalbin churches
BROADALBIN, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The man accused of setting fire to two churches and other buildings in Broadalbin pleaded guilty to second-degree arson as a hate crime on Friday. Leon Nadeau, of Broadalbin, will be sentenced on July 18.
State Police arrested Nadeau last summer for allegedly being behind the string of arsons in Broadalbin between July 16 and July 18. One of the churches, the Broadalbin First Presbyterian Church, was set fire at the rear entrance while members of the church were still inside and caused heavy damage to the structure.
