Ex-advisor would 'be leading GOP with pitchforks' if Dem had said what Trump just did
President Donald Trump's first-term communications director, Alyssa Farah Griffin, was aghast to see the clip of Trump's interview with NBC News' Kristen Welker.
Among the questions from Welker was whether Trump thinks he must uphold the Constitution of the United States as president.
Trump responded, “I don’t know. I have to respond by saying, again, I have brilliant lawyers that work for me, and they are going to obviously follow what the Supreme Court said. What you said is not what I heard the Supreme Court said. They have a different interpretation."
Trump's ex-aide confessed on Monday's episode of "The View" that if former President Joe Biden had said the same thing, she'd be up in arms.

"I try to keep myself honest from not falling into a partisan trap, and I often ask myself, how would I react if Barack Obama or Joe Biden said this?" Griffin questioned. She said if a Democratic leader was asked if they had to uphold the Constitution and responded, "'I don't know,' I would be leading Republicans with pitchforks, to say this is undermining your basic oath of office."
She also noted that Welker asked about threats of a recession and Trump reiterated that Americans must learn to live with less.
"It is a vast departure from what the Republican Party once stood for, but also what he promised and was elected on: prosperity, bringing back jobs, and bringing down inflation," Griffin added.
