2 arrested after allegedly stealing a dog in Albany
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Two people have been arrested after allegedly stealing a dog, the Albany Police Department announced on Saturday. Brenda McClendon, 42, and Javier Clark, 24, have been charged with grand larceny and criminal possession of a weapon.
On Friday, around 1:15 p.m., Albany police officers executed a search warrant at a home on the 600 block of South Pearl Street. The search was made in connection to an alleged stolen dog incident on Wednesday.
Inside the residence, authorities found the stolen Yorkshire terrier, named Fendi, the police department said. Detectives also reportedly found two loaded firearms.
McClendon and Clark were located inside the residence at the time of the search warrant and taken into police custody, officials said. Both suspects were reportedly arraigned at Albany City Criminal Court on Saturday morning and remanded to the Albany County Jail. Bail was set at $10,000 for Clark.
Fendi was reunited with its owner, police said.
