Tottenham could have five injured players back in time for Bournemouth clash
Tottenham have seen a number of first-team players return to action over recent weeks and more are expected to follow soon, with Ange Postecoglou potentially set to have a fully fit squad to work with very soon.
Spurs are currently without Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Radu Dragusin, Ben Davies, Dominic Solanke and Richarlison.
While under normal circumstances, one would feel that this is a bad situation for the club, given the injury crisis that the club have dealt with this season, the situation now looks much rosier than it did over recent months.
It has now emerged that almost all of these players are expected to be available for selection within the next two weeks.
Return dates revealed for injured Tottenham stars
The Standard state that Romero, Van de Ven and Solanke will all definitely be back in time for the second leg of Tottenham’s Europa League round of 16 clash against AZ Alkmaar, with some of them having an outside chance of being available for the first leg next week.
The outlet suggests that the home game against Bournemouth next weekend, which is sandwiched between those two ties against Alkmaar, might be the ideal date for the trio to return.
Meanwhile, Richarlison is also in the mix to face the Cherries next weekend as long as he does not suffer any additional setbacks during his recovery.
The report says that Ben Davies, who has missed Tottenham’s last two games with a knock, should be available to make the trip to the Netherlands for the first leg.
Radu Dragusin posted a surprising rehab video this week but is out with an anterior cruciate ligament injury in his right knee and is not expected to kick a ball until next season.
Tottenham players will be fresh for the final run-in
The one silver lining to the injury crisis Spurs have dealt with this season is the fact that many players in their squad will be fresh for the final run-in, having hardly played any football over the last three months.
That should mean that the Tottenham players are fresher than the opponents they will come up against over the coming months, which potentially further boosts their chances of making it deep into the Europa League.
