Jamestown man going to prison for 25 years for distribution of fentanyl causing death

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- A Jamestown man was sentenced to 25 years in prison after selling fentanyl and acetyl fentanyl that led to a death, the U.S. Attorney's Office announced.
Rocco Beardsley, 39, sold fentanyl, meth and other controlled substances with seven other people in the Jamestown area between late 2018 and March 2020.
Beardsley sold fentanyl and acetyl fentanyl to an individual identified as J.A., who later died, on April 9, 2019. When he learned of J.A.'s death, Beardsley attempted to get others to conceal the evidence from the scene.
Beardsley was also convicted of narcotics conspiracy. He utilized social media, as well as residences on Sampson Street and Cowden Place for his drug trafficking activities.
Beardsley was sentenced to serve just under five years in prison for conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine in 2007. He was also convicted of separate drug charges in 2017.
Seven other defendants have also been convicted in this case.
