Keira Knightley Shines in White Strapless Dress and Black Pumps for Tod’s Fashion Show During Milan Fashion Week
Keira Knightley went for classy looks in rounded-toe pumps while attending the Tod’s fashion show during Milan Fashion Week on Friday.
Choosing the Runway in Nappa pair from the brand, the shoes were characterized by a glossy upper and a closed-back design that kept her foot in place. While the back of the silhouette couldn’t be seen completely, Knightley has typically gone for shoes with a heel height between 4-to-5 inches for her previous appearances. Completing her look was a strapless white dress, which further accentuated her neckline and shoulders. The “Pirates of the Caribbean” actress wore her hair in a short bob style, keeping her accessories and makeup simple.
While the style has experienced some updates over the decades, rounded-toe pumps are a classic model that takes its vintage heritage and blends with some of the modern elements we’ve seen popping up in the footwear space in recent years. The silhouette is often praised by fashion lovers for its versatility and ease of styling. Regarded as a preferred shoe for red carpets and formal occasions, many brands such as Stuart Weitzman, Chanel and Gucci offer a wide range of pointed-pumps throughout the season.
Pumps of all kinds are also a staple in Knightley’s wardrobe as well. For a March 2023 appearance to promote “The Boston Strangler” on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” the actress chose a pair of heart ballerina pumps from Rocha that featured smooth black leather uppers with heart-shaped toes, thick platform soles and buckled Mary Jane-style upper straps. Thin lace-up straps were present on the upper, and the shoes were completed by a chunky heel that measured between 3-to-4 inches in height.
Knightly was also seen in a pair of pumps in July 2022 during Haute Couture Week in Paris, where she sat in the front row of Chanel’s Fall 2022 couture show, alongside stars including Marion Cotillard, Taraji P. Henson, Soo Joo Park, Leslie Mann, Sigourney Weaver and Clémence Poésy. For that appearance, Knightley complemented her LBD with a pair of classic cap-toed pumps from Chanel that included black capped toes, a tan leather design dispersed throughout and slightly flared 4-inch black heels for a ladylike finish.
The shoes were completed by thin Mary Jane-style straps for a prep school appeal.
