Mercedes driver in deadly Brooklyn school bus crash arrested: NYPD
BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) – A driver involved in a school bus crash that killed a 24-year-old woman in Brooklyn on Thursday has been charged with manslaughter.
Tyree Epps, 32, of Brooklyn, driving a Mercedes-Benz C300 south on Van Sinderen Avenue when he collided with the school bus traveling east on Blake Avenue, according to police.
Emergency Medical Services took the 57-year-old bus driver and a 24-year-old passenger in the Mercedes-Benz to a nearby hospital. The Mercedes passenger was later pronounced dead. The bus driver was expected to survive.
Tyree was arrested at the scene and charged with manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in death, aggravated unlicensed operator, driving without a license, failure to stop at the stop sign, and imprudent speed.
Police have not yet identified the Mercedes passenger who died.
