Inside ‘Tate Escape’ mystery from surprise U-turn that left cops FURIOUS to private jet dash after ‘pressure from Trump’

ANDREW and Tristan Tate were able to desperately flee Romania from a surprise U-turn that left cops furious, and a private jet dash following pressure from Trump aides.

The self-proclaimed misogynist brothers jetted out of Bucharest and landed in Florida just weeks after being freed from house arrest over trafficking allegations.

According to an investigation source who spoke exclusively to The Sun, the ‘Tate Escape’ was possible “because Trump’s envoys put pressure on Romanian authorities” – leaving cops fuming.

Romania’s Directorate for Investigating Organised Crime and Terrorism approved the request for the Tate brothers to flee the country following two years of similar rejected requests.

Romanian prosecutors said in a statement on Thursday: “The request to change the obligation of not leaving Romania was approved.

“All the other obligations have been maintained, including the requirement to check in with judicial authorities
every time they are called.”

They made it clear both are still under investigation with the case not dropped.

The brothers will also have to return to Bucharest later this year to adhere to the terms of their “judicial control” status, DIICOT added, with their next court hearing scheduled for March, local media reports.

But a judicial source revealed that there are serious reasons to believe the Romanian authorities and DIICOT were pressured by the Trump administration to allow the brothers to flee Romania.

The source told The Sun: “Andrew Tate is a great fan of Donald Trump and told many people on social networks last year to vote for him.

“The Trump administration clearly pressured Romania to lift restrictions on the Tate brothers. It is very simple and clear.

“Andrew and Tristan Tate made many requests to leave Romania since 2023 and the court rejected each time their requests and kept their assets seized.”

But the source pointed out that a month into Trump’s return to the White House, DIICOT suddenly agreed “to let Tate brothers leave Romania without imposing them a clear date to come back”.

The pariah Tate brothers have always been vocal Trump supporters and vehemently campaigned for the Republican during last year’s presidential campaign.

DIICOT have also agreed not to seize any more assets from the toxic pair, the source adds, furiously dubbing the situation “unbelievable”.

The source added: “DIICOT accept without any comments to let Tate brothers fly wherever they want, although they face extremely serious charges in Romania of human trafficking, repeated rape, and the formation of an organised criminal group.

“Romanians are entitled to not believe in justice anymore after this unexpected decision of DIICOT.”

In Romania alone, the Tate brothers are accused of human trafficking and forming an organised group to sexually exploit women.

Andrew Tate is also accused of rape.

A DIICOT representative has meanwhile failed to reveal whether Trump’s aides had an input on the brothers’ release.

They told The Sun that the request “for being allowed to leave Romania was made by Tate brothers and their lawyers” and that they “cannot make further statements on the reasons for which their request was approved”.

Andrew and Tristan Tate went directly to Florida on a Gulfstream G550 private jet from Henri Coandă Airport – the biggest airport in Romania.

Initial reports claimed the pair flew from Aurel Vlaicu International Airport, Baneasa, at 5:30am.

Flight radar showed the plane landing in Florida at 4pm (UK time).

A source in Bucharest detailed the Tate’s journey across the North Atlantic.

They told The Sun: “They’ve been allowed to leave on the condition that they come back for court hearings and cooperate with the investigation.

“But legal experts here seem to think the case against them is flawed and they are confident the charges will be dropped.

“Their departure was delayed because the court’s decision to release them from house arrest had not been entered into the computer at the airport.”

The pair arrived at Fort Lauderdale Airport, where Andrew Tate said to reporters that he and Tristan were “yet to be convicted of any crime in our lives ever”.

He also claimed that the prosecutor had decided to let them go because they have “no active indictment” in court.

Shameless Andrew said: “This is a democratic society where people are supposed to be innocent until proven guilty as my brother and I are.

TATE ARREST TIMELINE

BY Henry Holloway

ANDREW and Tristan Tate were arrested in December 2022 and later charged with human trafficking, rape, and forming an organised crime group to sexually exploit women.

Here is a timeline of everything that’s happened since they were nicked:

DECEMBER 29, 2022: The brothers are detained in Romania for 30 days, along with two women, on suspicion of human trafficking, rape, and forming an organised crime group.

JANUARY 3, 2023: Romanian authorities seize Andrew’s luxury car collection.

JAN 8, 2023: A cryptic tweet is posted to Andrew Tate’s account which reads: “The Matrix has attacked me. But they misunderstand, you cannot kill an idea. Hard to Kill.”

JAN 10, 2023: Andrew appears in court in Bucharest to appeal his detention but the judge rules against him.

MARCH 31, 2023: The Bucharest Court of Appeal rules against a judge’s decision to extend Andrew’s incarceration for a fourth time; Andrew is placed on house arrest.

JUNE 20, 2023: The brothers are formally charged with human trafficking, rape, and forming a criminal gang to sexually exploit women.

JULY 13, 2023: The Tates launch a $5million lawsuit against a Florida woman who they say falsely accused them of imprisoning her in Romania – which led to their arrest there on human trafficking charges.

AUGUST 4, 2023: Andrew wins an appeal to be released from house arrest in Romania as he awaits trial on charges of human trafficking.

DECEMBER 11, 2023: A judge denies the Tate brothers’ appeals to have £10million worth of assets returned to them.

JANUARY 8, 2024: The Bucharest Court of Appeal overturns the decision; the brothers are to have their assets returned to them.

MARCH 12, 2024: Both brothers are arrested in Romania over allegations of sexual aggression in the UK that date back to 2012 and 2015. They deny the allegations.

MARCH 22, 2024: The brothers lost their appeal to get back £10million worth of assets seized by cops.

APRIL 26, 2024: A Romanian court rules that Andrew and Tristan will face trail over ongoing probe into rape and human trafficking.

JULY 5, 2024: Courts rule that Andrew and Tristan can leave Romania – but must stay in the EU.

JANUARY 14, 2025: Brothers freed from house arrest

FEBRUARY 27, 2025: Andrew and Tristan reportedly flee Romania on a private jet

“I think it’s extremely important that we stop letting media spin wrap up smears, lies, and carefully constructed narratives try to destroy the reputations of good people who have no intentions to do anything other than follow the law.”

The pair refused to answer whether Trump had helped lift their travel ban and if they would return to Romania.

At the same time, Trump stated to reporters that he knows nothing about the Tate case and Romania.

But sources revealed to The Sun that there has been intensive US lobbying to have the Tate’s travel restrictions lifted.

Richard Grenell, a special envoy of the US and a close Trump ally, has previously brought up the Tate brothers and his interest in their situation on X.

Two weeks ago, Grenell met in Munich with Emil Hurezeanu, Romanian Foreign Affairs ministry.

Therefore there are suspicions that Grenell told Hurezeanu to take measure to allow the Tate brothers leave Romania.

Meanwhile Florida‘s governor, Republican Ron DeSantis, has slammed the brothers and warned that they’re not welcome in the state.

He said: “Florida is not a place where you’re welcome with that type of conduct.”

The governor also said he had no advanced warning the pair were flying there and “found out through the media”.

There are tensions between DeSantis and President Donald Trump after the Florida governor unsuccessfully ran against the President during the 2024 Republican nominations.

The brothers now also have frosty relations with Florida’s Attorney General James Uthmeier, who said he has directed his office to carry out a preliminary inquiry into them.

In a condemnatory X post, the Attorney General added that Florida “has zero tolerance for human trafficking and violence against women”.

He said: “If any of these alleged crimes trigger Florida jurisdiction, we will hold them accountable.”

The brothers were spotted looking at renting an ultra-luxurious $20 million Miami Beach house where Hollywood actor Matthew McConaughey once resided.

The property is listed for rent for an eye-watering $110,000 a month.

British Home Secretary Yvette Cooper is currently looking into the legal options to bring the brothers back to Britain where they are facing rape and human trafficking charges, The Telegraph reports.

The Tate duo, who are dual UK and US citizens, deny any wrongdoing.

Among the women include four Brits who have lodged accusations saying Andrew raped and coercively controlled them.

They previously urged Trump to stay out of the case.

The four alleged victims have now called on the Home Sec to take immediate action to bring the Tate brothers back to Britain.

In a joint statement, the Brit women said: “We urge the UK Government to immediately request Tate’s extradition from the US to the UK to face justice.

“If it doesn’t, it won’t just be us it will be failing, but all British victims of alleged sexual violence.”

“We do not doubt the Home Secretary’s personal commitment to victims of sexual violence, but we need action, not words.”

In December, British cops were allowed to seize more than £2 million from the pair after they failed to pay any tax on £21million in revenue from their online businesses.

The money is now held in seven frozen bank accounts and British police are seeking their extradition to the UK.

Both brothers were arrested in Romania three years ago after moving from the UK and still face a number of serious charges.

Cops have spent years trying to build up a case against the siblings after accusing them of rape, trafficking minors and money laundering.

The pair deny all accusations against them and have vehemently been fighting the claims both in court and on social media.

The Sun has approached DIICOT for comment on why the Tate brothers got the approval to leave Romania.
