Free Tulip Day in NYC tickets to release in March: When and how to get them
UNION SQUARE, Manhattan (PIX11) – Get ready to pick your own free flower bouquet when tickets for Tulip Day go up for grabs.
Reservations for the free second annual event at Union Square will open approximately on March 17. Tickets are recommended to attend on March 30 due to last year’s overwhelming demand.
Walk-ins may also be accepted the day of the event on a first-come, first-served basis.
More than 170,000 tulips will cover Union Square from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., offering ample space to frolic and pick your favorite flowers. Attendees can pick up to ten tulips to make a bouquet to take home.
Tulip Day has been a longstanding tradition in San Francisco’s Union Square as part of the FUTURE 400 initiative. The project comes by way of the Netherlands Consulate General of New York as a way of honoring 400 years of Dutch-New York history.
