Albany Academy, Holy Names advance to Class A semifinals
ALBANY, (NEWS10) -- Albany Academy played host to two Section 2 Class A girls basketball quarterfinals on Thursday night. The fourth seeded Holy Names took on fifth seeded Glens Falls, before the top seed, Albany Academy, played host to the nine seed, Cohoes.
Holy Names ran away with the the first matchup, taking down the Black Bears 66-31. Gianna Savoca led the way with 19 points.
In the nightcap, Academy jumped out to a 13-3 lead after the first quarter. They kept their foot on the gas, on the the way to a 76-32 win.
Academy and Holy Names will battle on Monday at 7:30 PM at Hudson Valley Community College for a spot in the Class A title game.
