St. Patrick's Day events around the Capital Region
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- Things are starting to turn green, not just for spring but also for St. Patrick’s Day. This year, St. Patrick’s Day is on Monday, March 17.
From parades to festivals to pub crawls, several places around the Capital Region are celebrating St. Patrick’s Day. Here’s where to find some events near you.
Albany St. Patrick’s Day Parade
The Albany St. Patrick's Day Parade returns on Saturday, March 15. The festive parade steps off at 2 p.m. and can be viewed from anywhere along Central Avenue or lower Washington Avenue. Before the parade, a Mass will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church on Central Avenue followed by a reception.
Hoosick Falls St. Patrick’s Parade
The Hoosick Falls St Patrick’s Parade and Irish Fest is set for Saturday, March 15. The Irish Festival will be taking place at the Hoosick Armory and other area locations starting at noon. The parade steps off at 1 p.m. at Wood Park.
Annual St. Patrick’s Day Block Party in Troy
Bootleggers on Broadway in Troy is hosting its annual St. Patrick’s Day Block Party on Saturday, March 15 at noon. The event features live music, and food and drink specials all day.
The Official Lucky’s St. Patrick’s Day Bar Crawl in Albany
The Official Lucky’s St. Patrick’s Day Bar Crawl is set for Saturday, March 15 from 4 p.m. to midnight. The crawl starts at Bar Vegan in Albany and also includes Out of Town Bistro, Fuze Box, The Eleven at Lark Hall, and Savoy Taproom. You can buy tickets on the Crawl With Us website.
Amsterdam St. Paddy’s Day Pub Fest
The City of Amsterdam is having its 9th annual St. Paddy’s Day Pub Fest on Saturday, March 15 from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Several businesses around Amsterdam will be having food and drink specials, live music, giveaways, contests, and more.
East Durham St. Patrick’s Day Parade
East Durham will be having its second annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Sunday, March 16 at 1 p.m. The parade steps off at the Michael J. Quill Irish Cultural & Sports Centre and ends at Five Furlongs.
Kingston St. Patrick's Day Parade
Celebrate St. Patrick's Day in Kingston on Sunday, March 16. The parade will step off at 1 p.m. at the Kingston Plaza.
Kingston Shamrock Run
The 37th annual Shamrock Run is set for Sunday, March 16 at 12:50 p.m. The race starts at Academy Green in Kingston. You can register on the race's website.
