7 weekend events, from Portland Seafood and Wine Festival to Mardi Gras Ball
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Get the most out of "fool's spring" with a weekend full of fun.
These are just seven exciting Portland events on the calendar through Sunday.
Kathy Griffin
When: Friday, Feb. 28 at 8 p.m.
Where: Newmark Theatre, 1111 SW Broadway, Portland, OR 97205
This comedian who secured two Primate Emmy Awards for her reality show “Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List” is now bringing more stories to life with her tour “My Life On the PTSD-List.” Griffin also holds the Guinness World Record for most stand-up comedy specials.
McMenamins History Ball
When: Friday, Feb. 28 at 8 p.m.
Where: McMenamins Crystal Ballroom, 1332 W Burnside St, Portland, OR 97209
Fans of historical dramas like “Bridgerton” are the target audience for the McMenamins Crystal Ballroom’s History Ball. Tickets to the inaugural ball cost $80, which cover hors d’oeuvres, live music and a sword fighting demonstration.
Portland Golf Show
When: Friday, Feb. 28 from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m., Saturday, March 1 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sunday, March 2 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Local golf feins can purchase new gear, get free lessons and play short games all at the Portland Golf Show. The event includes putting challenges and fitness drills as well.
Monster Jam
When: Friday, Feb. 28 at 7 p.m., Saturday, March 1 at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m., and Sunday, March 2 at 1 p.m.
Where: Moda Center, 1 N Center Ct St, Portland, OR 97227
“The most action-packed motorsports event on four wheels” is returning to the Moda Center for three consecutive days. Experienced drivers will operate 12,000-pound monster trucks during different compertiions and challenges.
Mardi Gras Ball
When: Saturday, March 1 at 7 p.m.
Where: Wonder Ballroom, 128 NE Russell St, Portland, OR 97212
Ahead of Mardi Gras on Tuesday, the Wonder Ballroom is hosting a weekend celebration. The ball will feature costumes, live music and Louisiana-inspired food from Bayou Bros Cajun Boils.
Portland Seafood & Wine Festival
When: Saturday, March 1 from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday, March 2 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Where: Portland Expo Center, 2060 N Marine Dr, Portland, OR 97217
Sample Oregon-grown seafood and locally-produced wine at this annual festival. This year’s vendors include Damascus Treats, Oak Knoll Winery and Résolu Cellars.
Hina Matsuri, Doll’s Day
When: Sunday, March 2 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Where: Portland Japanese Garden, 611 SW Kingston Ave, Portland, OR 97205
The Portland Japanese Garden is celebrating Hina Matsuri, a Japanese holiday that translates to Doll’s Day or Girl’s Day, with families this Sunday. The garden will showcase a seven-tier traditional display of hina dolls.
