Fiorentina plan ahead as Tottenham circle over star striker
Fiorentina are already planning efforts to block the exit of Moise Kean after Tottenham Hotspur and two of their Premier League rivals expressed interest ahead of the summer transfer window.
Moise Kean has outperformed expectations since his switch to Fiorentina last summer, with the forward currently sitting in second place in the race for the Serie A Golden Boot, with 15 league goals to his name so far.
The 24-year-old’s displays at the Artemio Franchi Stadium this season have reportedly caught Tottenham’s eye, with a number of outlets revealing that the Spurs have internally discussed making a move for Kean when the transfer window reopens.
Earlier this week, it emerged that Tottenham may face competition from Arsenal to sign Kean, with the Gunners also said to be fans of the striker.
Tottenham, Arsenal, and Aston Villa all like Moise Kean
A new report in TuttoMercatoWeb have backed up the interest of Tottenham and Arsenal in Kean while revealing that Aston Villa are also on the player’s trail.
It is explained that Fiorentina are aware of the interest from the Premier League trio and are relatively relaxed at the moment even though the striker has a €52m (£43.1m) release clause in his contract.
The outlet claims that the Viola are planning to offer Kean a new contract, which would either remove or change the terms of the release clause, thus protecting themselves ahead of the summer window.
Kean is a better fit for Spurs than other mooted transfer targets
Spurs will likely be in the market for a forward in the summer, given that Richarlison looks like he could be on his way out in the summer.
Kean would be a better fit for Tottenham than the likes of Liam Delap and Dusan Vlahovic as the Italian is more versatile, being capable of operating across the frontline.
We know that Postecoglou likes multi-functional forwards, and it would make more sense for Spurs to splash the cash on such a player rather than an out-and-out centre-forward, who can only play in place of Dominic Solanke.
