Groups and daily schedule announced for Baseball Champions League America 2025 in Mexico City
The groups and daily schedule for the Baseball Champions League Americas 2025 (BCL Americas) were announced at a press conference in Mexico City on Tuesday.
The champions of the Mexican Baseball League (LMB), Nicaragua German Pomares League (GPO), Puerto Rico Superior Double-A League (LBSDA), American Association of Professional Baseball (AAPB), Cuba Serie Nacional (SN) and Curaçao Double-A League (AA League) will compete in the second BCL Americas from April 8 to 13 at the Alfredo Harp Helú Stadium in Mexico City.
The six participants will split into two groups. Mexico City Diablos Rojos (LMB), Chinandega Tigres (GPO) and Florida Titanes (LBSDA) will play in Group A. Kane County Cougars (AAPB), Las Tunas Leñadores (SN) and Santa Maria Pirates (Double-A League) will compete in group B.
After round-robin play (April 8 to 10), the first-place finishers will advance to the semifinals. They will face on April 12 the winners of a play-off game between the third and second-place finishers, scheduled for April 11.
The semifinal winners will compete in the BCL Americas Final on Sunday, April 13.
The LMB and the WBSC announced the schedule during a press conference.
"The Champions League is the first WBSC club competition," WBSC President Riccardo Fraccari said via video message. "We are confident it will open a new chapter in international baseball history.
"We look forward to launching a Champions League Asia and a Champions League Europe. We foresee the day when we will honour a Champion of Champions, the winner of the global Champions League," he added. "The Baseball Champions League is part of our innovation strategy. The WBSC intends to offer top-level products to baseball fans worldwide."

Horacio de la Vega, LMB Executive President; BCL Commissioner Guillermo Ramírez; Curaçao Baseball Federation President Jedrek Magdalena; Puerto Rico Baseball Federation President José Quiles Rosas; Ajax Delgado, First Vice President of the Nicaragua Baseball Federation; AAPB Commissioner Joshua E. Schaub; Jorge del Valle, Diablos Rojos Vice President; and Carlos Martín Álvarez, General Manager of Cuba's Serie Nacional attended the event.
The BCL Americas will have local and global television coverage through ESPN Deportes. Schaub announced that the BCL Americas will also broadcast in English through takers in the United States and Canada
The Fargo-Moorehead RedHawks won the inaugural BCL Americas in October 2023
