My skin was red, dry and covered in spots before I transformed it in a week using animal fat – I’m a total convert
IT might not be the first thing you think of when it comes to game-changing skincare products.
But one woman has insisted beef tallow – aka cow fat – has completely transformed her skin.
Nicola wanted to try something to help her red, dehydrated skin[/caption]In a video on TikTok, Nicola explained that she’d got fed up of having red and dehydrated skin on her face – with frequent breakouts.
So, after hearing good things about the Fat Cow Tallow Moisturising Cream, she decided to give it a go.
As she has sensitive skin, she opted for the unscented version.
And while she was “nervous” about using the product, she needn’t have worried – as the results after just a week spoke for themselves.
Showing off her transformed facade on day seven, Nicola admitted that she “could not be more obsessed”.
“My skin feels so plump!” she added.
“It’s not dry in any places.
“The redness has gone around my nose and I just feel like my skin is looking a lot healthier.
“I’m absolutely loving it!”
“Could not have been more surprised with the results after 1 week,” Nicola captioned the video.
But people were divided in the comments section, with many agreeing with Nicola that the cream is a game changer.
“Beef tallow is amazing,” one wrote.
“I’ve used mine for months it’s great and lasts for ages!” another added.
“Absolute game changer for skincare.”
“This stuff is honestly amazing,” a third agreed.
“It is amazing stuff. Sinks in well, works quick. Deffo worth it,” someone else said.
The importance of sun cream in your skincare routine
Dermatologist and skincare enthusiast Andrea Suarez - known as Dr Dray - revealed why you should wear suncream.
The one thing you can do that will make the biggest difference – and this matters for all ages – is protecting your skin from the sun, Andrea stressed.
“The vast majority of external aging is due to exposure to ultraviolet radiation,” she continued, not because you’re “not using some jazzy serum or layering 90 different things on your face everyday”.
“If you’re not doing in your 20s, get on that now.”
But she said the use of sun cream alone doesn’t go far enough. Andrea urged that you also wear sun-protective clothing like broad-brimmed hats and long sleeves, on top of not staying out too long in the sun.
Doing this over your lifetime – and all year, not just during the summer or on sunny days – “will reduce the visible signs of photoageing”, Andrea said.
Those are wrinkles, muddled pigmentation and sagging skin.
“Oh my god, I use this cream,” another wrote.
“I guarantee it is absolutely the best!”
“I’ve got quite sensitive skin too,” someone else asked.
“Were you ok with it?”
“I did a patch test before hand just to make sure and was fine,” Nicola replied.
“Honestly love it, can’t believe how quickly my dry areas healed and they have been red and dry for months.”
However, others were unconvinced, with many taking issue with the smell they said comes from using the moisturiser.
“I tried it. Made my face smell like a steak and wasn’t any better than any basic moisturiser,” one argued.
“Even the scented smells like beef dripping,” another agreed.
“It smells like a roast dinner though!” a third wrote.
“Umm no matter how bad my skin would get I would never use cow fat on my skin,” someone else insisted.
And she added that she’s definitely a convert – although not everyone was on board with the idea of using beef tallow as a skincare product[/caption]
