Kylie Minogue baffled as long-lost collaboration with music legend appears online 32 years after it was recorded
THE existence of a collaboration between Prince and Kylie Minogue has been the stuff of music industry legend for decades.
Recorded in 1992 after the duo struck up a bond when his Diamonds And Pearls tour came to Earl’s Court in June that year.

Up until now, even Kylie believed the song would never see the light of day and had been lost to the mists of time.
But 32 years after she wrote the song, it has emerged online, to the surprise of the Padam Padam singer.
On the track Prince can be heard singing: “Let me be your baby doll, sugar and spice and all things nice.
“Let me be your paradise. Let me be your baby doll.”
With his instantly recognisable vocals, the track sounds not too dissimilar to Kylie’s 2001 hit Come Into My World.
A source said: “Kylie is just as baffled as everyone else as to where the track has come from.
“It was initially delivered to her on a cassette back in the Nineties and since Prince’s death in 2016, belonged to his estate.
“Any leak is annoying but it’s nice for fans to finally know what the mystery song sounds like, God knows they have waited long enough.
“As for what will happen now if anything, fans will have to wait and see.”
Talking about her love of Prince and meeting him for the first time, Kylie previously said: “I went to see his show Diamonds And Pearls at Earl’s Court . . . and when I say I’m a Prince fan, I mean, I just love him.
“Firstly I’d never seen him live before and that was an experience in itself and I got to meet him afterwards.
“I don’t know where I plucked up the courage . . . I told him I was working on a new album . . . it was an outer body experience.”
Explaining how Baby Doll came about, Kylie said: “We hung out a bit.
“He was naturally a bit of a wind up.
“He was like, ‘Where are your lyrics?’
“I got some lyrics to him, and I’m not sure how long after but it was quick as we know he was quick, I had a cassette delivered to me by Prince’s driver.
“He had knocked up this song called Baby Doll.
“I was home alone in my apartment in London receiving this cassette from Prince.
“It was a moment. There was no one there to share it with.”
As well as hitting the studio in London, Kylie was also invited to hang out at his legendary home and studio Paisley Park, Minneapolis.
Kylie added: “Nothing ever happened to that but I would love it one day if his estate would grant me permission to do something with it.”
