Matchroom announces six shows in early 2025
Matchroom Boxing revealed six shows set to run from January through March, with Dalton Smith, Diego Pacheco, Rocky Hernandez, and more in the spotlight
Shortly before kicking off its final show of 2024 in Monte Carlo, Matchroom revealed the half-dozen shows set to fill its schedule from January through March of next year.
Proceedings begin on January 25th with a transatlantic double bill. Over in Nottingham, top super lightweight Dalton Smith (16-0, 12 KO) ends a 10-month layoff against France’s Walid Ouizza (19-2, 8 KO) in a bid for both the European belt and the WBC “silver” title, which would set up a title shot against the winner of Alberto Puello vs Sandor Martin. The undercard includes Harry Scarff (13-3, 3 KO) vs Conah Walker (14-3-1, 15 KO) and Elie Scotney’s (9-0, 0 KO) IBF super bantamweight title defense against BoxRec no. 2 Mea Motu (20-0, 8 KO).
Later that day in Vegas, super middleweight Diego Pacheco (22-0, 18 KO) meets fellow unbeaten Steven Nelson (20-0, 16 KO). Super-prospects Andy Cruz (4-0, 2 KO) and Ernesto “Tito” Mercado (16-0, 15 KO) round out the main card, respectively battling Colbert-slayer Omar Salcido (20-1, 14 KO) and former champ Jose Pedraza (29-6-1, 14 KO).
A January 31st NXTGEN show in London features George Liddard (8-0, 5 KO) against Derrick Osaze (13-2, 3 KO) and Junaid Bostan (10-0, 8 KO) vs Bilal Fawaz (9-1, 3 KO). Four weeks later on February 28th, Eduardo “Rocky” Hernandez (36-2, 32 KO) meets Rene Tellez Giron (20-4, 13 KO) in what could be an absolute banger.
March begins with Lewis Crocker (20-0, 11 KO) vs Paddy Donovan (14-0, 11 KO) in a Northern Ireland vs Ireland showdown in Belfast on the 1st, then ends on the 28th with the pro debut of 2024 heavyweight Olympian Pat Brown in Altrincham.
