Katy Perry Does a Style 180 by Going Gothic in This Daring Fur & Lace Gown
Katy Perry‘s style change shows that she wants to try any and all looks, and fans seemingly adore her latest major change.
On Dec 12, Perry shared a series of photos of herself rocking a daring new look. She shared the photos with the caption reading, “Paris je t’aime et tu m’aimes tellement alors on t’a donné un autre spectacle ! Bisous ????????.” Roughly translated, this reads: “Paris, I love you, and you love me so much, so we gave you another show! Kisses ????????.”
In the photos, we see Perry posing in an array of places, rocking the same gothic, chic ensemble we can’t take our eyes off of. We see her in a maroon fur and black dress from Kim Shui, which was styled by Heather Picchiottino.
She also donned her wavy black hair, adding a chopped bang look courtesy of hairstylist Andrew Ly. Then, she donned a dramatic, dark eye look and matching maroon lip from makeup artist, Alexandra French. Truly, she’s donning a romantic, gothic look for her recent style change.
Back in the late 2000s, she was known for her very cute outfits, zany themes, and bright colors. However, a shift occurred in 2017, which she talked about with Vogue. “I like more androgynous, architectural lately,” she said. “I am happy to be another interpretation of myself.”
She added in another interview with Vogue that she goes two different ways with her red-carpet fashion. “My red carpet looks? They vary depending on what I’m going to or what it is or what the theme is. But I kind of go two different ways,” she said. “I either go OTT weird, fun, wild, and wacky or I go elegant, evolved, designer, gorge.”
