Jay-Z rape accuser admits ‘inconsistencies’ in case but insists star & Diddy raped her at 13…as he slams ‘false’ claims
JAY-Z’s accuser, who claimed the music mogul and Sean “Diddy” Combs raped her when she was 13 years old, admitted to several inconsistencies in her lawsuit.
But the Alabama woman, who remains unnamed, stood by her allegations and insisted the rappers took turns raping her after the 2000 MTV VMAs award show.
In the lawsuit, originally filed in October, a woman identified as “Jane Doe” sued Sean “Diddy” Combs for alleged sexual abuse but was refiled on Sunday to include Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter.
The accuser admitted to “some mistakes” while recounting the alleged rape but maintained the accusations made against the two rappers are true, in an interview with NBC News.
“Honestly, what is the clearest is what happened to me and route that I took to what happened to me. Not all of the faces there are as clear,” the accuser told NBC.
“So I have made some mistakes. I may have made a mistake in identifying.”
Jane Doe had initially claimed to have spoken to a celebrity during the after-party, but this person was not in New York at the time.
She also rebuked her earlier claim that her father picked her up after the alleged assault.
The news outlet also reported that images she described in the lawsuit did not match up with the after-party Diddy and Jay-Z were seen at that night.
Despite this, Jane Doe maintained the rape claims against the two rappers and described what allegedly happened to her as a “catastrophic event”.
In the bombshell lawsuit, the unidentified woman, now 38, claimed she was picked up by a driver, who claimed to work for Diddy, after she attempted to enter the VMAs.
She alleged that a driver outside Radio City Music Hall, who claimed to work for Diddy, gave her a lift to a house as she would “fit what Diddy was looking for”, according to the lawsuit seen by NBC.
The suit said she was dropped off at a white house with a U-shaped driveway before being asked to sign a document, which Jane Doe said could have been a nondisclosure agreement.
The accuser claimed she went into a room to rest after she was offered a drink that made her feel “woozy, lightheaded and felt [like] she needed to lie down,” per NBC.
The suit goes on to claim Jay-Z reportedly undressed her, held her down and assaulted her while Diddy and an unnamed female celebrity watched the alleged rape.
She also claimed Diddy raped her as Jay-Z and the female celebrity watched on.
Jay-Z has strongly denied these allegations and labelled the suit “blackmail” and “false”.
He said: “My lawyer received a blackmail attempt, called a demand letter, from a ‘lawyer’ [representing Jane Doe].”
Diddy has also opposed claims put forward against him in this lawsuit.
Jane Doe also told NBC that the alleged event affected her mental health as she later dropped out of school and experienced homelessness.
“I got severely depressed. I withdrew completely. My grades started slipping,” she said.
Jay-Z has continued to deny these allegations as he told The Sun: “Today’s investigative report proves this “attorney” Buzbee filed a false complaint against me in the pursuit of money and fame.
“This incident didn’t happen and yet he filed it in court and doubled down in the press.
“True justice is coming. We fight FROM victory, not For victory.
Jay-Z’s lawyer Alex Spiro told The Sun: “It is stunning that a lawyer would not only file such a serious complaint without proper vetting, but would make things worse by further peddling this false story in the press.
“We are asking the Court to dismiss this frivolous case today, and will take up the matter of additional discipline for Mr. Buzbee and all the lawyers that filed the complaint.”
Diddy’s attorneys told The Sun: “Yesterday, a lawyer admitted that over 50 people falsely claimed to be victims.
“Today, for the second time this week, a Buzbee plaintiff has been exposed. This is the beginning of the end of this shameful money grab.”
This comes as Jay-Z’s team filed a motion on Monday asking the judge to make the accuser reveal her identity.
