Monty Don has talked of filming a ‘hard’ TV show[/caption] The star recently suffered a health scare[/caption]However, Monty has now embarked on a venture outside of Gardeners’ World.
The star has filmed a series which will see him discover Britain’s most magnificent gardens.
Speaking to Gardens Illustrated, he said: “I’ve visited 60 British gardens – it’s going to be a five-parter, a big series.
“It’s actually been one of the hardest things I’ve done.
He added: “To craft a five-hour narrative was a bit more tricky.
“But I think we’ve done it, and it’s been fascinating.”
Meanwhile, Monty’s recent health issue resulted in him cancelling six shows around the country but he’s back on the road again.
The presenter posted a video message on Instagram to update his fans and said he’d ended up hooked to drips in A&E.
But he didn’t give any more details about what caused him to be kept in hospital and explained it away as an unexpected drama.
In a post on Instagram he said: “Tonight I am in Edinburgh at the Usher Hall for the last night of this tour.
“Last week’s hiccup was a bit of unexpected drama but it has been fun and all the audiences have been fantastic.”
In the previous video message regarding his cancelled shows, he explained: “I’m so sorry to have disappointed all those people who are going to come and see me in Exeter and Truro and Bath and Nottingham.
“But on Friday afternoon, I was rushed to A&E.
“I was kept in the hospital, uh, over Saturday, Sunday and Monday. I had some drips and all the rest of it.
Monty has reassured fans he is on the mend[/caption]“But I came home last night. I’m feeling much better. I’m going to spend the next few days quietly recuperating here at home and hopefully by the weekend, I’ll be back to for fitness.”
Fans were worried about him and were quick to share their well wishes with him.
“You didn’t disappoint us, more than anything we were worried about you Rest up, and take good care” said one.
Another added the same sentiment and posted: “Get well soon and rest up!”
“very much hope you’re soon fully recovered. Warmest wishes from me and Gerard x” said a third.
When Monty posted a new image of a man pruning a tree in his garden and captioned it: “The Irish yews in the Cottage garden have had their annual haircut while I have been in Edinburgh”
