Mayor Adams seeks to deport migrants who commit crimes
NEW YORK (PIX11) – Mayor Eric Adams told President-elect Donald Trump’s border czar he would work with him to deport migrants who commit violent crimes in New York City.
Adams met with Tom Homan at Gracie Mansion to discuss Trump’s plans for mass deportations. Adams said he does not believe those deportations would extend to migrants just going about living their daily lives.
“We’re going to protect the rights of immigrants in this city who are hard-working, giving back to this city in a real way. We’re not going to be a safe haven for those who commit repeated violent crimes against innocent migrants, immigrants, and long-standing New Yorkers,” Adams said Thursday.
