'Barbie 2' Update: Greta Gerwig's Rep Shoots Down Report About Story Idea
A new report claims that Barbie 2 is officially in the works, but reps for Greta Gerwig, Noah Baumbach, and Warner Bros. are all shooting down the claims.
It has seemed inevitable that Barbie would get another movie after the first one grossed $1.4 billion worldwide and earned 8 Oscar nominations, including one win.
Greta, who co-wrote and directed the first movie, has said in the past that she would only make a sequel if she could find the right story to tell. Well, the new report claims that she settled on a story idea with co-writer and real-life partner Noah.

The Hollywood Reporter stated in a new article that Greta and Noah “have been swept up in an undertow and hatched an idea for the sequel, having already brought it to Warner Bros.”
“There is no legitimacy to this reporting,” Greta and Noah‘s rep said.
“THR’s reporting is inaccurate,” a rep for Warner Bros said.
Nothing is known about the potential storyline of the Barbie sequel and we probably won’t know anything for a long time!
