Packed plane forced to make emergency landing after bird strike
A bird strike on a plane shortly after it took off in New York City forced it to make an emergency landing, officials said Friday.
It brought back memories of the Miracle on the Hudson, in which a plane made an emergency landing on the New York river after a hit by birds left it incapacitated.
The American Airlines plane had taken off from LaGuardia airport on it’s way to Charlotte, NC. A bird flew into its engine minutes after take off, officials said.
The plane managed to land safely at New York’s JFK Airport.
An X post showed the moment the bird was sucked into the engine, followed by an explosion near the plane’s tail.
Nobody was reported hurt.
